I really really REALLY love doing newborn sessions. There is something so magical about a new baby… not at all like a wedding, but magical like a wedding day. The first two weeks of a baby’s life are distinctly different. They are more sleepy, snuggly and sweet faced “generally”. This is why I try to schedule sessions in the first two (or three) weeks. Charlie is the third boy in this awesome family. He was so calm and relaxed, that nothing seemed to disturb him. It seems as though younger siblings do better with noise. Three boys, two dogs, one (I think?) cat, and endless coffee. You rarely see Dad without a mug of coffee in his hand. Love it. Congrats guys, you make a great bunch!
I don't even know where to start with this beautiful girl, other than that I cannot believe this sweetheart is graduating from High School. I remember the day that I met my oldest niece (and her little sisters)—so clearly. She was around 7 or 8 years old. She stole my heart from day one. She ALWAYS had a big grin on her face, with eyes big and bright—eager to talk AND listen. Haleigh and her sisters always enveloped me with love, hugging me as much as they could from that first day (and to this day STILL). Haleigh was a barrel of energy as a little girl, and as sweet as sweet can be. She has always been incredibly graceful, with long limbs and a tall frame. And this is why she always would shine on the dance floor. She was like an awkward little long-legged, skinny fawn as a girl, and has grown into a beautiful doe. Graceful, strong and gorgeous. I am so proud of you Haleigh, and am fighting tears as I type this! You are such a beautiful woman, inside and out! Your heart is big and will touch so many people's lives. You will be an amazing nurse—or whatever else your heart desires. LOVE YOU!
I only photograph a few weddings a year, since my specialty is in children's photography- but I was lucky enough to recently capture my brother-in-law and new sister-in-law's wedding, in Harrisburg, North Carolina. Their wedding day was gorgeous, just like my new sister-in-law, Amber! I love these two so much, and feel so grateful to have them both in my life! They both make me laugh so hard, and have the biggest hearts. Amber feels like someone I have known my whole life, which is pretty much how my whole husband's family felt when I first met them. Andy and Amber met at a wedding themselves, and their connection was hard to deny. Their relationship spiraled quickly into a serious commitment, and it was soon obvious that they wanted to spend their lives together. They are two peas in a pod. I was also lucky enough to witness and capture their engagement.
The wedding took place at Riverwood Manor, on a little tree lined lake, with the sun glistening through the leaves. The day was picture perfect. Sunny, with a slight breeze. The location was rustic, yet classy. "Shabby chic" was the theme throughout the wedding, carrying Amber's French roots through all of her decor. The ceremony was so beautiful, with Amber and Andy signing their vows to each other, confirming their love and commitment through thick and thin. Family and friends surrounded them, glowing in approval. The sky was golden before the sun set, smiling down on these two lovebirds. We are just so happy for you two, and cannot wait to spend holidays together year after year. Love yas!
